SF), enters the contest as a much ballyhooed prospect. But Prangley, a
nine-year veteran, has dealt with his share of young contenders.

"I've fought a lot of guys that are really skilled, but I've always
been able to implement my pace and my gameplan," Prangley recently told

"Strikeforce Challengers VI: Kaufman vs. Hashi" event officially made
weight for the show on Thursday evening.

MMAjunkie.com was on scene for the ceremonies and captured images of all 24
competitors as they hit the scale at the Hilton San Jose in San Jose,
Calif. The San Jose Civic Auditorium plays host to Friday night's fight
card.

Kaufman and Takayo Hashi, who will compete for Strikeforce's first ever
women's welterweight (135-pound) title, as well as South African
veteran Trevor Prangley and his opponent, Frenchman Karl Amoussou.

Today's weigh-in ceremonies took place at the Hilton San Jose (in the

All 24 fighters successfully made weight for the show, though as is typical in California, it took some early contract planning.

Today's weigh-in ceremonies take place at the Hilton San Jose (in the

ET (5:30 p.m. PT local time), and MMAjunkie.com will have live updates

“Strikeforce Challengers VI: Kaufman vs. Hashi” is set to take place tomorrow evening from San Jose, California while airing live on Showtime.

The weigh-ins for the event will take place today from the Hilton San Jose with an expected start time of 8:30 pm ET.

Sarah Kaufman is set to face off with Takayo Hashi for the Strikeforce female 135 pound title in the headlining match-up of the evening, while Trevor Prangley will throw down with Karl Amoussou in the co-main.

This Friday a womens bout between Takayo Hashi and Sarah Kaufman, for the first ever Strikeforce female 135 pound title, has been promoted to main event status for the Strikeforce Challengers VI event. Initially the event headliner was to be a middleweight match between Karl Amoussou and Trevor Prangley, but event officials changed the main event designation on Monday.

Strikeforce Challengers VI takes place on February 26th at the San Jose Civic Auditorium in San Jose, Calif. A five-fight main card, which features Amoussou vs. Prangley in the co-headliner, airs on Showtime.

Kaufman puts her undefeated streak to the test against Hashi, who has won eight in a row herself. Strikeforce officials have hinted at a possible four- or eight-women 135-pound tournament this year that could determine a contender for Friday’s winner.

There has been some confusion as to the weight class designation of the belt. Traditionally the 135 pound division has always been classified as bantamweight, but Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker has designated the women’s 135 pound division as welterweight. He’s also designated the women’s 145 pound title as lightweight instead of the traditional featherweight.
