Yesterday at the APA Delaware Power Classic, 23 year old junior Vince Mallace (275) set a new APA American and World raw bench press record by hitting 480 pounds on his second attempt. The previous record was held by Maurice Washington at 475 pounds. Mallace then missed a 495 pound third attempt.
Mallace also holds the raw USAPL Pennsylvania state record in the 242 class with a 457 pound bench press.
John Bogart (shw) has decided to move up a weight class for the USAPL Pennsylvania State BP/DL Championships on May 15 in Brogue, Pennsylvania.
In training leading up to the meet, Bogart handles 785 pounds full range and 805 off of various boards. To put this into perspective, the IPF single lift bench press record is Daisuke Midote's 793 pounds. The USAPL American single lift record is Jeff Lewis's 777.

On Sunday, at the USAPL Pennsylvania State Championships in State College, Pennsylvania, 23-year-old junior Roosevelt Offoha (220) went nine for nine, posting lifts of 606, 430, and 672 pounds for a raw total of 1,708 pounds. That total moves Offoha up from sixteenth to sixth on the Lifter Rankings and will put him in the top 20 in America on the Power Rankings. It also breaks the open USAPL American Record.
