(Update: Shine Fights officials today told us Conor Heun has not
joined the tournament as an injury replacement. A post on what appeared to be the
organization's official Twitter account mentioned the change earlier today, which prompted our report. However,
the switch apparently wasn't official.)
With Josh Shockley scratched due to injury, Strikeforce and IFL veteran Conor Heun has stepped in as a replacement.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt now joins the eight-man field for next month's "Shine Fights: Lightweight Grand Prix" tournament.

Former season 10 “The Ultimate Fighter” participant James McSweeney (4-5) will be dropping to the light-heavyweight division for his next fight in the UFC. His opponent for that next fight will be fellow Brit Tom Blackledge (10-6), with both men meeting at UFC 120 in England.
McSweeney weighed in at 231 in his last fight as part of the preliminary card for the “TUF 11″ Finale, a fight in which he lost via TKO in the first round to Travis Browne. Dropping to 205 won’t be that hard of a stretch and will hopefully prove better for the former kickboxer and Muay Thai fighter. He made the announcement on Sunday via his Twitter page.
The former “TUF 10″ fighter will feel the pressure of performing in his fight with Blackledge with a 1-1 record under the UFC banner. McSweeney defeated fellow housemate Darrill Schoonover at the shows Finale to win his UFC debut.
Blackledge trains at the Wolfslair MMA Academy in Liverpool, England and will be making his UFC debut against McSweeney. He’s taken his last two fights under the M-1 Global banner, defeating both opponents in the first round. Both fights took place last year and his UFC debut will mark his first bout of 2010.
UFC 120 is set to take place on Oct. 16 at the O2 arena in England and Spike TV will broadcast the main card in North America for free via tape delay.

There were several heads that turned in the mixed martial arts world when UFC President Dana White green-lighted Mark Hunt entering the UFC, even though the fighter is currently on a five fight losing streak. A fan took to asking White about the hire via Twitter:
Fan asked: Y was Hunt Signed, he has a losing record and has lost 5 in a row. Big fan of u & UFC but don’t understand signing, plz explain.
Dana: part of the pride deal we contractually owe him fights from our purchase of the company
It’s a strange situation as it’s been three years since the UFC bought out Pride, and still there are several sources reporting that the UFC has awarded Hunt a four fight contract. There is some word that Hunt’s weight was an issue as he was way over the 265 limit, and that Hunt has slimmed down enough to be contractable for fights. Either way Hunt is expected to fight on September 25, 2010 at UFC 119 where his opponent is expected to be Sean McCorkle. Will Hunt be able to make waves in the UFC? Probably not, but he could still be quite exciting to watch.

A previously anticipated match-up between former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber and heavy handed Japanese wrestler Takeya Mizugaki scheduled for WEC 50 will have to wait for now as “The California Kid” recently broke the unfortunate news that the bout has been scratched via his Twitter account.
Faber reported that he suffered an inury on Monday that will prevent him from competing on the card.
The bout with Mizugaki was expected to be Faber’s debut in the 135 lb division, as the 31-year-old Isla Vista resident has spent the bulk of his career competing at the 145 lb mark.
Faber vs. Mizugaki was slated to take place during “WEC 50: Cruz vs. Benavidez” from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on August 18.
It also appears that Mizugaki will be scratched from the card entirely as MMAJunkie.com has reported that the promotion has no immediate plans to salvage his participation in the event.
Stay tuned to FiveOuncesofPain.com as we keep you up to date on a possible return date for the former WEC champion.
