Spike TV counters “Strikeforce: Nashville” with UFC 110 replay on April 17

For the first time ever, February's "UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez" event will be available on cable station.

Spike TV officials today announced the event, which initially aired on pay-per-view Feb. 20 from Acer Arena in Australia, will air April 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The broadcast counter-programs "Strikeforce: Nashville," a CBS-televised event that features three title fights.

Bellator Fighting Championships featherweight title-holder Joe Soto (8-0 MMA, 3-0 BFC) meets former UFC fighter Diego Saraiva (17-8-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC), who's undefeated at 145 pounds, in the organization's latest season-two "super fight."

The contest takes place May 20 at Bellator 19, though a location and venue have not been announced.

Each of Bellator's season-one tournament winners/current champs are being booked for season-two non-title fights while No. 1 contenders are determined by the season's eight-man tournaments.

Tickets for Strikeforce's return to network television go on sale today.

"Strikeforce: Nashville" is scheduled for April 17 at Bridgestone Arena
(formerly known as the Sonnet Center) in Nashville, Tenn., and features three title
fights on the evening's CBS-broadcast main card.

Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, March 5, though a
pre-sale begins today at 11 a.m. ET (10 a.m. CT local time) at
Ticketmaster.com. Tickets range from $25 to $195 plus applicable fees
and taxes.

Strikeforce's second trip to network television is finally a done deal.

CBS on Tuesday officially announced its broadcast of "Strikeforce: Nashville," which takes place April 17 at Bridgestone Arena (formerly known as the Sommet Center) in Nashville, Tenn., airs live at 9 p.m. ET (tape delayed on the West Coast).

Strikeforce and CBS officials told MMAjunkie.com the broadcast will run approximately two hours with apparent room to run over the allotted time if needed for the night's three confirmed title fights.

The UFC's return to New Jersey now has a third official bout.

While the UFC 111 card has been much discussed since a pair of title
fights was announced that includes welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre
vs. challenger Dan Hardy and Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir for the UFC's
vacant interim heavyweight title, those two matchups were the only official bouts
for the card.

Today, the promotion officially announced a lightweight contest between
proven grapplers Mark Bocek (8-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and Jim Miller (16-2
MMA, 5-1 UFC).
