New Canadian Federation Formed to Affiliate with WPC

Effective January 10th, 2010 the WPC is affiliating with a newly formed organization in Canada, the Canadian Powerlifting Federation (CPF), to offer single ply, multi-ply and raw competitions in the country. The CPF replaces the CPO and will be the only federation which sanctions WPC/AWPC events in 2010 in Canada.

In the Fall of 2009, it was announced that the Powerlifting Federation Standards Association(PFSA) would be formed, to put a stamp of approval on those federations that adhere to the traditional rules of powerlifting. The goal, simply, would be to let the general lifting public know where they could lift and be judged by credible standards.

Former APF New Hampshire State Chair Louie LaPoint has joined with Bill Durant to launch the new powerlifting federation, Elite Powerlifting Federation (EPF).
