Travis Wynn Headlines the CPW 9 Poster. Weraing the MyHOUSE Sponsor T Shirt

TSN has an interesting article where UFC president Dana White explains why the poster for the upcoming UFC 111 has Dan Hardy’s stomach tattoo removed. Here’s the quote:

“This thing popped up and I heard that it was anti-Chinese government, so I ripped that thing off it. I’m not going to put him on a poster with anti-Chinese government writing on it when we’re trying to get into China. . . . I don’t what this stuff means, so I’ve got to be safe.”

According to Hardy the tattoo represents a Tibetan Buddhist prayer, but there could still be some friction as China doesn’t exactly see eye to eye with Tibet. Looks like the UFC is taking targeting China and its population seriously.

It would seem that someone somewhere has taken offense to Dan Hardy’s tattoo. In the latest UFC 111 poster the Brit is shown without his stomach tattoo, which seems to have been magically erased.
