While it's easy to picture Lolohea Mahe in a mixed-martial-arts cage, fans may find it harder to imagine the dangerous striker singing in his church choir.

But Mahe often joins his family at church - when he's not delivering flowers for his buddy's Hawaiian business.

So how did Mahe, who headlines Friday's Strikeforce Challengers 9 event in Showtime, find his other passion: mixed martial arts? He's got fellow Hawaiian Kendall Grove to thank for that.

UFC president Dana White has already told mixed martial arts fans that the next heavyweight title shot belongs to highly touted fighter Cain Velasquez, who will face UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar later this year. Now word has come out, via MMAJunkie that the winner of Junior Dos Santos vs. Roy “Big Country” Nelson will get the first shot at whoever wins that bout.

UFC 117 will feature the match up to decide the next number one contender on Aug. 7 from Oakland, California. Looks like the UFC heavyweight picture is slowly getting clearer although there’s no word on where Shane Carwin goes from here.

Paulo Filho’s gone the route of former Boxing Champion Mike Tyson and tattooed his face. Here’s his thoughts on the new ink(via MMAConvert) and the picture after:

It’s like what Tyson has on his face. The tattoo looks good, I’m the one who doesn’t! Come here and take a picture of the new Paulao to show people what’s to come. I’m off drugs. This business about no one wanting me is a lie.

The athletes from the following countries Brazil, France, Portugal, Japan and Canada must be affiliated with their country’s national Brazilian jiu jitsu federation, and must bring federation ID at the event before their fights, otherwise you will not be able to compete.

All competitors, regardless of age, are required to present a valid picture identification prior to each match.

In the case of juveniles (minors), a valid/unexpired school identification card or similar may be used so long as the DOB and your picture is on it. Persons unable to provide one of the above forms of identification will NOT be permitted to compete and there will be NO refund of tournament entry fees given.
