Bellator 29 weigh-in results: Massouh and Guida miss weight

All 14 Bellator 29 fighters took part in Wednesday's official weigh-ins, and two competitors missed weight.

Main-card fighter Jameel Massouh (142 pounds) missed the limit for his 140-pound catchweight fight, and preliminary-card fighter Jason Guida (215) was heavy for his 210-pound catchweight bout.

The night's co-headliners, who are Bellator's season-three heavyweight-tournament semifinalists, all made weight without incident.

LEMOORE, Calif. - MMAjunkie.com was on scene for today's "Tachi Palace Fights 6: High Stakes" official fighter weigh-ins in Lemoore, Calif.

Today's weigh-in ceremonies took place at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, the same site as Thursday night's GoFightLive.tv-broadcast fight card.

Main-event competitors Kyacey Uscola and former WEC light heavyweight
champion Doug "The Rhino" Marshall, who meet in a middleweight special
attraction, made their bout official, while Tachi Palace Fights
middleweight title contenders Anthony Ruiz and Leopoldo Serao did the
same. In fact, all 18 fighters on the card - including big-show veterans
"Razor" Rob McCullough, Corey Hill, Diego Saraiva and Micah Miller -
all made weight on their first trip to the scale.



Neil Grove vs. Alexey Oleinik tourney semifinal official for Bellator 29

A heavyweight-tournament semifinal fight between Neil Grove and Alexey Oleinik is official for next week's Bellator 29 event, officials today announced.

The event, which is the first major show regulated in the state of Wisconsin, takes place Sept. 16 at the Raves/Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee.

Grove vs. Oleinik is part of the night's FOX Sports Net-televised main card.



Carla Esparza official for Bellator 24, fights Megumi Fujii

It won't be easy, but Carla Esparza will have a shot at becoming
Bellator Fighting Championships' first female tournament winner.

Bellator officials today announced that Esparza has
officially replaced an injured Angela Magana and will face Megumi Fujii in a tourney bout at Thursday's Bellator 24 event.

Bellator 24, which kicks off the organization's 12-week third season,
takes place Aug. 12 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in
Hollywood, Fla., and the main card airs live on FOX Sports Net.



Ryan Couture makes professional debut at Strikeforce Challengers 10 in Arizona

The long-anticipated professional debut of Ryan Couture is now official.

Following a successful amateur career, Couture will cash his first
paycheck following an Aug. 13 bout against Rage in the Cage veteran
Lucas Stark at Strikeforce Challengers 10.

Couture, of course, is the son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture and trains with his father's Xtreme Couture camp in Las Vegas.



WEC 51 official with Aldo vs. Gamburyan, Cerrone vs. Varner headliners

World Extreme Cagefighting officials today formally announced the upcoming WEC 51 card, which features a championship headliner between featherweight title-holder Jose Aldo and Manny Gamburyan and a co-headliner rematch between Donald Cerrone and Jamie Varner.

"WEC 51: Aldo vs. Gamburyan" takes place Sept. 30 at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo.

Other officially announced bouts include Miguel Torres vs. Charlie Valencia, Leonard Garcia vs. Mark Hominick, and Chan Sung Jung vs. George Roop.

Strikeforce's first visit to Arizona will feature a throwback feel as
four women square off in a single-night, single-elimination
tournament with the winner earning the right to a title shot.

While the field has yet to be officially announced, MMAjunkie.com has confirmed with Strikeforce officials that Hitomi
Akano and Maiju Kujala each will
take part in the four-woman bracket.

The remaining two entrants in the Aug. 13 Strikeforce Challengers event
haven't been announced.

The WEC returns to Las Vegas for the first time since December for "WEC
50: Cruz vs. Benavidez" on Aug. 18, and 10 bouts are now official for
the evening's fight card.

WEC officials today confirmed the previously reported bouts of Scott
Jorgensen vs. Brad Pickett, Chad Mendes vs. Cub Swanson, Maciej
Jewtuszko vs. Anthony Njokuani.

Featuring a bantamweight title fight between current title holder
Dominick Cruz and challenger Jospeh Benavidez, WEC 50 takes place Aug.
18 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

A pair of previously reports bouts has been added to next month's WEC 50 card.

They include featherweights Javier Vazquez vs. Mackens Semerzier and lightweights Ricardo Lamas vs. Dave Jansen.

Both matchups are part of the un-aired preliminary card of the Aug. 18 event, which takes place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Official fighter weigh-ins for this weekend's UFC 116 event take place Friday, July 2, at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT local time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The weigh-ins are one of four events open to fans this week.

Additionally, Wednesday's open workouts, Thursday's pre-event press conference, and Friday's UFC autograph session are also open to the general public.
