WEC fighter Urijah Faber will face Takeya Mizugaki at WEC 52 on November 11 from The Pearl in Las Vegas, Nevada, this according to MMA Weekly. The fight, which will be the first bantamweight bout for Faber, was originally slated for WEC 50 but Faber had to pull out due to an injured knee.
Faber is still perhaps the best known WEC fighter, even after having basically been outmatched at the 145 lb weight class. Perhaps the move down will spark his career as he’s certainly still marketable as a main event draw. The MMA News will bring you more on this story as word comes out.

The World Extreme Cagefighting’s most popular fighter, “The California Kid” Urijah Faber (23-4) was hoping to make his return to the cage in September but is now looking at the month of November instead.
Faber had been scheduled to face Takeya Mizugaki at WEC 50 on Aug. 18, it would have marked a return for the fighter at 135 pounds, but an injury forced him to pull out.
“The California Kid” was a guest on Sherdog.com’s radio show recently speaking about the injury, his recovery, and more.
“I’m back to full-on training now. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to fight in November. I told (WEC officials) I could go in September when I found out I’d be out four to six weeks. I wanted to be on the Sept. 30 card, but I got pushed back to November.”
“I was doing some kickboxing and takedowns and my leg got yanked from the outside in,” said Faber. “They said it was an atypical injury to my MCL. My MCL kind of peeled away from the bone. They told me I wouldn’t need surgery, but I’d be out four to six weeks. I was able to do some stuff without twisting it, so I was able to work out, do physical therapy and stay in shape. It’s been six weeks since I hurt my leg, this was supposed to be a six-week injury and I had my first full week of practice last week.”
“Where I’m at right now, I’m just having a great time and fighting my heart out. I just want fights that make sense. (A fight with Miguel) Torres would be bigger for me right now than (fighting WEC bantamweight champion Dominick) Cruz. There are all kinds of fights I can do right now and can go back up to 145. I feel like I can do well against most anybody at 145 and I’d be willing to go to 155 at some point.”
Faber is just 2-3 in his past three fights, three of which were WEC featherweight title fights, having lost his last bout to current featherweight champ José Aldo in the main event of WEC’s first ever pay-per-view show in April of this year.

A highly anticipated bout between former UFC Light Heavyweight champions Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Lyoto Machida is set to take place on November 20th.
News of the bout was recently confirmed by MMAJunkie.com.
Jackson had tweeted last night about his next match:
Almost ready 2 sign the bout agreement! i would tell yall who im gonna get down with, but i cant spell his name…hahaha
Both Machida and Jackson have verbally agreed to the fight, which could take place at UFC 123 and is expected for November 20, although nothing has been finalized.
Jackson returned after a year lay-off to film the A-Team movie when he faced Rashad Evans in a highly anticipated grudge match at UFC 114. Evans dropped Rampage early in the first round and dictated the pace of the fight by continuously putting Rampage against the cage. Rampage nearly finished the fight with a flurry in the third round, but was unable to capitalize on the situation.
Machida, the former champion is trying to shake off the loss to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 113. A fight that saw an overly-zealous Machida dropped by Rua and then pounded out. The former champion had been undefeated with sixteen straight wins before the loss.
The winner is surely expected to find himself in the mix for a title shot against the winner of the upcoming Rua/Evans bout in the spring.

Tito Ortiz talked with MMABay recently about his surgery, his canceled bout against Chuck Liddell as well as the talk surrounding the “Iceman’s” future, his home situation, and when he’s hoping to return to the octagon.
Here’s a bit of that interview transcribed by MMABay.
“I was really shocked (by the loss to Rich Franklin fight), I saw all my money go out the window. It is what it is, everything in this world happens for a reason and I’ll be back at the end of November. I’d like to [fight] Forrest. If Forrest would like to do a trilogy it’d be awesome. We gave two great fights both times we fought and we’ll get a triple fight more exciting than the last two.”

Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - Considering that UFC vet Marcus Davis has won five of seven fights outside of the United States, you would be forgiven for thinking that when he was looking to bounce back from his November 2009 loss to Ben Saunders in Las Vegas, a bout in Montreal this weekend against Jonathan Goulet was the perfect fit.

When Luiz Cane was destroyed by Antonio Rogerio
Nogueira this past November at UFC 106, no one was more shocked by the
result than "Banha," himself.
His lone prior loss was via disqualification after blasting James Irvin
with an illegal knee at UFC 79 in December 2007.
But Nogueira outstruck the brawling Cane and earned a TKO in just 1:56.
With Cane now scheduled to face French striker Cyrille Diabate at UFC 114 in May, the Brazilian slugger said he's working
on a complete retooling effort to address the lessons learned against
Nogueira.
