NEWARK, N.J. - Following their respective wins at Saturday's UFC 111 event, Jon Fitch asked what his two thumbs and wants a rematch with UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

It's pretty easy to imagine where Fitch's upward-turned thumbs were pointing.

However, following the fighters' effective and dominant - yet somewhat unpopular - performances, UFC president Dana White hardly seemed to share their enthusiasm for the potential championship rematch.

NEWARK, N.J. - Just hours after Shane Carwin battered former champ Frank Mir into a first-round TKO defeat and claimed an interim heavyweight title, UFC president Dana White confirmed plans for a title-unification bout.

Following Carwin's victory in the co-headliner of Saturday's UFC 111 event at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., White said he expects the interim title-holder to meet current champ Brock Lesnar in early July.

As MMAjunkie.com first reported earlier this month, Lesnar has been expected to return from a year-long layoff due to illness at a currently unannounced UFC 116 event on July 3.

NEWARK, N.J. - The easiest measure of UFC welterweight champion Georges
St-Pierre's greatness may be the look that was on his face at the
conclusion of his one-sided win over Dan Hardy.

Disappointment.

the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. - including a 50-43 score on one
card - St-Pierre knew he hadn't yet turned in his best.

NEWARK, N.J. - Scrappy UFC brawler Nate Diaz has always been an
"anybody, anywhere, anytime" kind of fighter.

After his performance on the preliminary card of Saturday night's UFC
111 event at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., Diaz can now add
"any weight class" to his take-on-all-comers attitude.

Diaz made the leap from the 155-pound division all the way up to
middleweight, albeit on a slight technicality, and the Stockton, Calif.,
native delivered one of the most impressive performances of his career.
