Already a veteran of ten fights in the UFC, Nate Diaz has recently agreed to terms that will see his tenure with the promotion extended for another four bouts.
News of the contract extension comes courtesy of Cesar Gracie, Diaz’ manager and trainer, who recently relayed the news to MMAJunkie.com.
Diaz recently moved up to the welterweight division after spending the bulk of his career at lightweight. He is curently scheduled to face off with Marcus “The Irish Hand Grenade” Davis at UFC 118 in Boston on August 28.
Diaz will be looking to notch his second consecutive victory in the welterweight division after recently stopping Rory Markham via first round TKO, while Davis is also looking to make in two in a row after stopping Jonathan Goulet with a second round TKO in his last trip to the Octagon.

While UFC 117 is still more than four weeks away, the build-up for the
main event of the Aug. 7 card in Oakland, Calif., has already reached
epic proportions.
Middleweight contender Chael Sonnen started his
trash-talk campaign in April when he professed his doubt that champion
Anderson Silva would even have the courage to sign a
bout agreement for the event, and he's since questioned everything from
Silva's manhood to the credentials of his training partners.
Silva's manager, Ed Soares, said he doesn't
take offense at Sonnen's attacks, even though he's been targeted in some
of the tirades. Instead, Soares simply hopes Sonnen is training with
the same intensity he's talking.

Strikeforce on Wednesday released its middleweight champion, Jake
Shields, which confirmed the fighter's long-expected exodus from the
promotion.
The man who's long coveted his services, UFC president Dana White, today
told MMAjunkie.com he sees no reason why he can't
ink Shields "quickly."
If a UFC deal is done, Shields' manager said the fighter wants to fight
"a couple" of fights at middleweight, then drop to welterweight. White
doesn't necessarily agree.
