Jeremy StephensUFC lightweight fighters “Lil Heathen” Jeremy Stephens (17-5) and Melvin Guillard (24-8) are expected to meet at UFC 119 in the fall. Sources close to the event noted that bout agreements will be signed soon by both fighters.

UFC 119 is expected to take place on Sept. 25 at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, but no official words has come from the promotion as of yet.

Stephens is coming off a close victory against Sam Stout at UFC 113 in Montreal. “Lil Heathen” was awarded the split decision in a fight that earned both men the “Fight of the Night” honor. For the Iowa native, he’s won three “Fight Night” awards in his past three victories, getting “Knockout of the Night” against Justin Buchholz at UFN 19 and Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 91.

He’s won his past two fights, dropped the previous two and is 3-2 in his past five. He’s earned 12 T(KO) wins out of his 17 professional victories.

Guillard, a former “TUF 2″ veteran, is 5-1 in his past six having earned two straight victories. He KO’d Waylon Lowe in his last fight at UFC 114, after dropping the fighter with a solid knee to the body. “The Young Assassin” earned a unanimous decision against Ronnys Torres at UFC 109 before his previous fight.

His only loss in the past six fights was against Nate Diaz at UFN 19 after he got caught in a guillotine choke in the second round. Guillard has won 14 of his 24 wins by T(KO) and 7 by submission.

After his win over Lowe the other weekend, Guillard asked to face Stephens next and now apparently, has his wish.
