UFC Fight Night 22 medical suspensions go to six fighters

All 20 fighters who competed at this week's UFC Fight Night 22 event were issued medical suspensions, and six face suspensions lasting longer than the mandatory minimum of 10 days.

Headliner Rousimar Palhares and preliminary-card fighters Brian Foster, Forrest Petz, David Mitchell, Rafael Natal and Jared Hamman face suspensions of two weeks to up to six months.

UFC Fight Night 22 took place Sept. 15 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, and aired on Spike TV.

Wednesday's broadcast of "UFC Fight Night 22: Marquardt vs. Palhares" on
Spike TV earned an average audience of 1.2 million viewers, station
executives today announced.

The Sept. 15 broadcast peaked with 1.6 million viewers, who tuned in for
Nate Marquardt's odd first-round stoppage of submission ace Rousimar
Palhares.

The event took place at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas - Attack, and don't let up. That's Cole Miller's philosophy on fighting.

Miller has become a recent spokesperson for putting the "fight" back in "ultimate fighting." To his relief, he managed to back up his words by stopping Ross Pearson in impressive fashion at UFC Fight Night 22.

"I like to do what I say I'm going to do," Miller said after the event, which took place Wednesday at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.

UFN 22Today’s “UFC Fight Night: Marquardt vs. Palhares” event is already underway from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.

Preliminary action has already begun, with the Live Spike TV broadcast kicking off at 8 PM EST (5 PM PST).

The main event for tonight’s UFN 22 event features a middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares. The co-main event has Charles Oliveira facing Efrain Escudero in a 159 lbs catchweight bout.

Escudero weighed in at 159 pounds for their lightweight bout on Tuesday. Both fighters have agreed to meet in a catchweight bout and Escudero will have 20% of his “show” money given to Oliveira.

Don’t forget that following tonight’s Live Spike broadcast, the first episode of this seasons “The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck” will air at 10 PM EST (7 PM PST).

With only four bouts listed for the two-hour televised event, Spike is bound to rebroadcast one or more preliminary matches. Therefore, we’ll be keeping the spoilers off the main page.

believes he's within striking distance of another shot at the
middleweight title, and he's got to get through Rousimar Palhares if he has any hope of making that happen in the next year.

Palhares, meanwhile, is on a three-fight tear and needs a victory over a
big-name opponent to solidify his status near the top of the 185-pound
division.
