Well, kind of.

As far as storylines go, the UFC 117 bout between Ricardo Almeida and
Matt Hughes has plenty, and they all center on revenge.

Hughes defeated Almeida in a grappling match back in 2000. Ten years later, Hughes beat
Almeida's teacher, Renzo Gracie, at UFC 112 in April. Surely that must
get Almeida's blood boiling, right?

Not exactly.

The Blueprint: Liddell-Franklin

June 7th, 2010 | Author: UFC Press Releases

Michael DiSanto, UFC - It all started on April 2, 2004—officially, at least. Unofficially, it began at least two years earlier.
On June 22, 2002, Chuck Liddell scored a late knockdown to secure a unanimous decision victory over mixed martial arts mega star Vitor Belfort. It was Liddell's ninth consecutive professional victory and sixth in a row in the UFC. He was, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the number one contender for the 205-lb belt then worn by Tito Ortiz.

"On April 24th and 25th, 2010, the WPA came to Corpus Christi. The first day showcased the youth division. It was an awesome sight to see such determination in the young eyes of these competitors. It struck a nerve with me and reminded me why we all powerlift. We do this because we enjoy it. We do this because we love to push ourselves further than we thought possible. Our youth are the future of the sport we hold dear. Teach them well and hopefully they can continue our family tradition: POWERLIFTING!" -Johnny Vasquez

Now that the buzz from April's "WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber" event and a lauded Leonard Garcia def. Chan Sung Jung fight has cooled off, we take a bigger-picture look at the fight.

In our latest MMAjunkie.com/"Inside MMA" poll, we asked which fight did the most to publicize its hosting organization.

Was it Garcia vs. Jung, the UFC's legendary Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar fight - or perhaps Bellator's Toby Imada vs. Jorge Masvidal or Strikeforce's Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers?

issued an immediate rematch of the massive upset, Edgar said he welcomes

MONTREAL - Following April's UFC 112 event in Abu Dhabi, UFC president
Dana White made little attempt to hide his displeasure with his
middleweight champion, Anderson Silva.

After Silva first taunted, then avoided, challenger Demian Maia, White
called the fight an "embarrassment," and promised to "make it up" to the
fans.

On Thursday, at the pre-event press conference for UFC 113 at Montreal's
Bell Centre, White said that atonement is still forthcoming.
