Former “TUF” 10 fighters Jon Madsen (3-0) is set to face Mostapha Al-turk this upcoming weekend in Abu Dhabi as part of the preliminary card of “UFC 112: Invincible.”

The heavyweight said recently that he’d respect Al-turk once “the fight is over and he’s beaten him.”

“It’s hard to say what I’ll do because there’s nothing to study on this guy (Al-turk),” he says. “Even if I had to pick his strengths and weaknesses, I can’t. I think he’s a mediocre level fighter who is average at everything. Anyway, I don’t do game plans – I just go in and fight. I know that last time, basically all I did was standup. So this time you can expect me to mix things up: level changes and body shots, tie in the wrestling, ground and pound. Just put it all together more and keep it less of a boxing match.”

In a sport where fighters are cautious to make predictions, Madsen is one of the few who doesn’t hesitate to share his plans or opinions.

“It’s going to end with a knockout or TKO,” he says matter-of-factly.

In chasing the childhood dream he once forgot about, Madsen has no time for niceties. Asked if he has at least one kind sentiment or words of respect for his opponent, he just laughs.

“Respect?” he asks. “I’ll respect Al Turk when the fight is over and I beat him.”

Madsen has won all three of his professional bouts including his UFC debut against Justin Wren via split decision at the “TUF” 10 Finale in December of last year. In the quarterfinals of “TUF” Madsen was knocked out be teammate and finalist Brendan Schaub.
