Heading into the main event of UFC 110, many MMA experts pointed to the suspect power of heavyweight Cain Velasquez and the legendary chin of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira as a reason "Big Nog" would eventually defeat his much-younger opponent.

Many MMA experts were horribly wrong.

Instead, Velasquez destroyed Nogueira on the feet in less than one-half
of a round in the main event of "UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez" at
Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.

If there were any doubts that Cain Velasquez was the real deal, the unbeaten phenom answered them emphatically Sunday afternoon as he scored a spectacular first round knockout of future Hall of Famer Antonio Rodrigo 'Minotauro' Nogueira in the UFC 110 main event at the sold out Acer Arena, host to the UFC's first event in Australia.

Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - With losses in three of his last four fights, PRIDE legend Wanderlei Silva felt the pressure heading into his UFC 110 co-main event against Michael Bisping Sunday afternoon, but with flashes of his ferocious brilliance late in rounds two and three, he was able to eke out a close, but unanimous, decision over 'The Count' at Acer Arena.

Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - Known for his striking prowess, welterweight vet Chris 'Lights Out' Lytle went to Plan B Sunday afternoon at the Acer Arena, submitting Brian Foster with a first round kneebar in UFC 110 preliminary action.

Tonight’s Ultimate Fighting Event is actually taking place on Sunday afternoon in Australia, but due to the 16 hour time difference, the PPV is being broadcast in North America starting at 10 p.m. EST (7 p.m. PST).

The “UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez” event taking is place at Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia with heavyweights Antonio Rodrigo Nogieira vs. Cain Velasquez facing one another in a bout that may determine the champ Brock Lesnar’s next opponent. In the co-main event, middleweights Michael Bisping vs. Wanderlei Silva square off in a match that could seriously effect either fighters future.

With the success of this weekend's UFC 110 event - including a ticket sellout on the first day of sales - the Ultimate Fighting Championship plans to make Australia an annual destination.
