Jorge Masvidal has been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride of late.
The 26-year-old Miami native is an even 3-3 in his past six contests.
The good news for Masvidal is he will soon get a fresh start in his second career stint with the Strikeforce promotion. He meets Billy Evangelista on the main card of "Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson" this Saturday

UFC 127's draw between headliners Jon Fitch and B.J. Penn produced a staggering number of submissions in The Sunday Junkie, our weekly reader-feedback feature.
Fitch's contender status, Penn's legacy, the state of MMA judging, and even the UFC's matchmaking were put under the microscope.
But this week's winning entry came from Massachusetts reader Dan "Big Sexy" Vreeland, who examined a hotly debated co-headliner between Michael Bisping and Jorge Rivera. Using the fight as an example, Dan argues why MMA referees are making popular yet potentially dangerous decisions in the case of illegal strikes.

Spike TV will air a "UFC Prelims" special as part of April's UFC 129 event in Toronto.
UFC officials confirmed the plans during Saturday's live broadcast of UFC 127.
Although not officially announced, sources told MMAjunkie.com that welterweight bouts of Nate Diaz vs. Rory MacDonald and Brian Foster vs. Sean Pierson are the leading candidates for the cable broadcast.

B.J. Penn has been in this position before.
Following a failed attempt to reclaim his belt and a second loss to Frankie Edgar in 2010, Penn considered calling it quits.
Following a UFC 127 majority draw with Jon Fitch on Saturday, Penn again was noncommittal on his future. But if his post-event flight plays out like it did after UFC 118, the view from 30,000 feet could provide some clarity.

While UFC lightweight contender George Sotiropoulos carried the
expectations of a nation on his shoulders in a UFC 127 loss to Dennis
Siver, the submission ace wasn't the only Aussi competing on native
turf.
Kyle Noke, Anthony Perosh and
transplanted New Zealander Mark Hunt all earned
victories at this weekend's card in Sydney, Australia.
All three said the chance to claim octagon victories in front of an
enthusiastic hometown crowd was a dream come true, and all three said
they couldn't wait for the next test in their way.

While perennial UFC welterweight contender Jon Fitch's incredible and
somewhat dubious streak of nine consecutive bouts that reached the final
bell has become mandatory discussion each time the American Kickboxing
Academy product competes, it was something entirely different that
produced a buzz heading into this weekend's UFC 127 event.
His newly-adopted vegan diet.
But while Fitch was forced to settle for a
majority draw in his main-event matchup with MMA legend B.J. Penn, he insists the disappointing result was due to
the Hawaiian's crafty strategy rather than any change in mealtime
plans.

While fan reaction to the initial announcement of Michael Bisping vs. Jorge Rivera as the co-main event
of this weekend's UFC 127 event was a tad apathetic, the
two fighters worked hard to change all that before it was time to enter
the octagon.
In fact, through a series of Internet videos and interviews, Bisping and
Rivera developed an intense rivalry that was evident from weigh-in to
final bell.
But while Bisping earned a second-round TKO in the matchup, Rivera's
camp believes his actions during and after the fight were anything but
admirable. Bisping says they should just get over it.

This weekend's "UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch" matched a company record by selling out the host venue in just 22 minutes.
With the card now in the books, UFC officials say it qualified as the
largest gate ever generated by the promotion outside of North America.
However, if the vision of the promotion's U.K. division head is correct,
a future event Down Under may challenge for the company's worldwide
marks.
