An Iowa wrestling museum has inducted several athletes into its hall of fame and honored a former high-profile politician from Illinois.
A crowd of amateur and professional wrestlers gathered Saturday at the Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute and Museum in Waterloo.
Those inducted into the new Alan and Gloria Rice Greco-Roman Hall of Champions included 1984 Olympic champions Steve Fraser and Jeff Blatnick and 1995 world champion Dennis Hall.
Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, an Illinois Republican, was also honored. He received the Sport of Lincoln Award for his contributions to the sport.
Hastert coached Yorkville High School in Illinois to the team championship in 1976. He says you never stop being a wrestler.
